ship & shape

Apply here payday loans 100% secure

I foun Ship & Shape’s shop the other day and absolutely fell in love. Not only do they have neat + creative items for sale, but their product shots really pulled me in. So fun. So fresh.

This week for my column on Studio Sweet Studio, I decided to be gutsy. Everyone wants to know about pricing as a freelance creative, but not a lot of people talk about it. It all seems pretty hush hush. I took this as an opportunity to talk freely and honestly about my thoughts about pricing. I’ve always said I’m an open book, so let’s do this. Please please please share your thoughts about this one guys : this is the perfect time to start up a discussion between all of us! Here is a snippet from the article:

“Not many people talk freely about pricing out freelance work. It’s this scary and unknown place, but honestly, everyone wants to know. I plan on covering a variety of topics regarding money over the next few weeks, so definitely check back for more! Before I sart, let’s get real : pricing is 100% different for everyone. No two people are alike. Creatives have different work ethics, skill sets, and experience … all of which need to be taken into account. It is my goal to give you a general sense of how to approach things.”

These images, shot by Jeremy James for Yves Delorme, are absolutely breathtaking, creating a fashionable dream world with the most beautiful colors I ever did see. Honestly, what I would give to live in that beautiful little world for a day … so colorful!

branding backwards, 1

April 04th, 2012 / 5 COMMENTS

Hi guys! This is Cassie again, from  The Veda House. Bre and I decided that after 20 weeks of our Recreate It collaboration posts, we were ready for a little change of scenery. We both share a love for mood boards and see them as an important design tool in our design process. This is the part where we get inspired and completely surround ourselves with the ins and outs of each project.

In this project (we’re calling it Branding Backwards) we’ll be dissecting some of our favorite brands and stripping them down to their core brand aesthetics. During this bi-monthly collaboration we’ll study brands on a deeper level, sharing with you our process, and hopefully inspiring you guys to use mood boards as part of your creative process. Don’t forget to stop over at my blog today to see the brand Bre has been exploring!

francisca pageo

These collages by Francisca Pageo are pretty darn neat and remind me just how much I’d love to start my own little journal, filled with cutouts and hand lettering. I’ve been thinking about getting a simple ( and small ) moleskin notebook and starting it up. Anyone else do this??

I thought these images from Glori Marigo went really nicely together. Sure, they were taken for two completely different things, but the colors are just so beautiful, right??

I’ve always had a thing for roses. It is my middle name, after all! These beautiful images were taken from Anabela of Field Guided, a beautiful curated blog that you should no doubt check out. The haunting palettes here are surely an inspiration!

You guys. I want to DIY something like this SO bad … they’re definitely on my wishlist of things to make, that’s for sure. I have so many pens, pencils, markers and little gadgets that need to be in a much spiffier place. Currently, it’s an old mug that I could do without. Time to get crackin’! If you’re not into DIY, but love what you see, these can be purchased here. Awesome, right??
